This spring, a young singer-songwriter travels to Oslo as the Belgian entry of the Eurovision songcontest 2010. His name: Tom Dice. His song: me and my guitar. And as it happens, his guitar truly plays a major role in his life.
Tom Dice- born Tom Eeckhout- is only 20 years old, but has had some years of experience as a musician. He wrote his first song as a 12-year-old, and started a band when he was 15: The Dice. The name of this band inspired him when choosing his artist name a few years later.
When he just turned 18, Tom auditioned for a singing competition on tv: X Factor. His faithful companion: his guitar. He ends up second, but member of the jury Maurice Engelen notices his talent. The leadsinger of Praga Khan falls for his unique voice and performance qualities. He decides to lead him.
June 2009, Tom releases his first single 'Bleeding love'. His cover of Leona Lewis' hit leads him steadily to the top of Ultratop. That fall TMF nominates him 'Best New Artist' at the TMF Awards. Oslo 2010 is yet another stepping stone in his young career.
